The detrimental impacts of housing instability on cognitive, emotional, physical and development growth are well-documented – yet are often ignored by mainstream and community-based service systems. that are best-positioned to serve as First Responders to indicators of housing distress. In response, we are promoting the systematic integration of housing intervention strategies into mainstream and community-based services systems across diverse sectors—including education, healthcare, and child, youth and family services.

COVID-19 & Housing Instability
The Coronavirus Pandemic has illuminated the affordable housing crisis through a different lens: the need for social distancing, sheltering-in-place, and isolating people possibly exposed to, exhibiting symptoms of, or actually testing positive for the virus. All of these are impossible to do in overcrowded housing – and certainly for those without a safe and stable place to live.
